As part of the Northern Gateway project at Deeside, over 17,000 m² of new carriageways and 7,500 meters of footpaths were installed, prioritising sustainability by replacing traditional asphalt with eco-friendly materials.

In collaboration with clients and designers, HALO RubberPave+ 10, incorporating recycled materials and end-of-life tyres, was used, resulting in a 57.99tCO2e reduction in carbon emissions.

A key challenge was upgrading the spine road from Welsh Road while preserving local habitats. The project achieved over 4,000 incident-free man-hours, highlighting safety and operational excellence. This milestone marked Huyton Asphalt's laying of over 250,000 tonnes of HALO products.
